I'm at work...as usual. Still don't have my computers at home fixed completely...it's really aggravating to get used to having something and then not have it anymore--goes to show how we take things for granted.
I wasn't really supposed to work tonight. Agreed to work for another nurse-then got put on call-went to church and as soon as church was over I got called in...makes me think God had me at church tonight for a reason!! HHHMMMMmmmm

It's gonna be a busy week again..Jada's game and cheer pictures on Monday, Jada's school pictures on Tuesday, work Tues and Wed, Garrett's guitar lessons and Blake's JV game on Thursday, The varisty game on Friday and then work Sat and Sun....whew I'm tired already just thinking about it.

Saturday I got to see some friends that I hadn't seen in a while. I used to work with Jason and got to know his wife pretty well. They had a baby premature and he is now 9 months old. That child has captured my heart! I haven't seen him in months and he is the cutest little thing!! It was good seeing them again...

Well enough rambling--a call light is going off :-)

Wow! I don't think I have ever been so happy to go back to work! Never again will I plan a project on a 6 day off stretch as I did this time and if anyone hears me discussing it--SMACK ME!!!
I finally got the kitchen finished, but left this evening for work with the cabinet doors still not on and paint splatters--EVERYWHERE!! Anyone know of any good tricks to get paint up easily!?

Tonight has been a good night so far--that's the thing about this job, all night can be quiet and in the blink of an eye we have a code or something God forbid! Guess now I should KNOCK ON WOOD!

Time to get back to work.....

Home Improvement

Oh my goodness--what was I thinking? Thursday I started a new project--painting the kitchen, not only the walls but the cabinets as well. I'm not finished yet but I am completely sick of it. Can't get the kids to help me--and truthfully without their willingness I dont want them to--if I forced them to help it would be sloppy. Gary never is big on painting-redecorating type things so I knew not to ask him. Thank God for mothers! My mom came over Saturday and helped! I don't know what I would do without her. Unfortunately, we didn't finish mainly because of wait time--waiting on a coat to dry to put on another coat...but we got a lot done--so today from 8am-1pm I worked relentlessly on painting. Two coats on the walls later I am wiped out! I still have to finish up a last coat on the cabinets and put them back on!!!! Things are looking better though!
Why in the world I ever took on this project I don't know! I don't like doing this sort of thing--I am motivated by hopefully selling this house and buying something new! We need a bigger house!

So..here's a few things I've learned over the past few days

1. Even though KILZ says "low odor" you still can get high from the fumes
2. USE A STEP LADDER--not a bar stool
3. Color NEVER EVER EVER NEVER--looks the same on the little squares as it does the walls--did I say never!!!
4. When a paint project begins the family disappears
5. You can never find new cabinet hardware that exactly fits the holes from the old ones
6. New cabinet hardware is EXPENSIVE
7. Home Depot is the most awesome store in the world
8. My mother is even more awesome than I thought before!
9. I hate painting-next time I will be hiring someone
10. I'm proud of myself for being able to do this and getting it done-and it looks great!

Time off

I'm so excited about being off for 6 days (or nights--however you want to look at it). You'd think I haven't been off work in ages by the way I am acting! I haven't had one of these LONG stretches in forever and I have lots of plans for good use of my time. First, I have to do the normal daily routine of cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping--ahhh all the fun stuff that comes a long with being a mom and wife!
But afterwards I'm getting started on a long over due project. PAINTING the kitchen. Not only am I painting the walls, I am going to take down the cabinet doors, paint the cabinets and get all new hardware for them...and I have been looking at some tables and chairs. We plan to put the house up for sale next spring so I want to get started on all this redecorating so that hopefully the house will sale fast and we can get something BIGGER!!

I won tickets to three concerts off the radio the other day and one of them is Saturday. Switchfoot and Third Day. It's just two tickets to each concert and don't you know Blake and Garrett both want to go to this one. The first one was Need To Breathe, which I gave away to a girl I work with. The group is a christian band but the concert was at a local bar....I just don't get it. Anyway guess we will draw straws to see who goes with me Saturday.

Easley JV plays BYRNES tonight. Wouldn't you know Jada has cheer PRACTICE so I will miss another game! This makes me so mad. Jada's team doesn't have a game but the head coach called a practice so being the asst coach I have an obligation to be there. If I had not agreed to do this, Gary and I could take turns. The most I have seen of Blake's games is the last half of the game against Pickens last week--and they substituted 2nd string in about the time I got there so I missed Blake playing. GGGRRRR I need to clone myself!
Varsity plays Eastside this week--going to varsity games is so much fun...forgot how much I enjoyed that!

Our church Rock Springs just finished up our yearly Area Wide Crusade. I only got to go Sunday morning and Wed night because I was working but it was great! We got to see some old friends we haven't seen in a long time last night.

Guess that's it for now...for some reason our dinosaur computer is deciding to work today which is a pleasant surprise, so maybe I can get some pics on here now! :-)

At work again...

I'm considering changing my permanent address to 1 St Francis Drive...seems like I'm always here...or maybe just since my computers at home aren't working, the only time I am even online anymore is at work!

Thursday was a lot of fun--Jada had a game and when it was over my mom called and said it was only half time at Blake's JV game. So we headed to EHS to see the end of the JV Easley/Pickens game. Easley won! Friday we went to Pickens for the varsity game. Blake didnt play again this week and Pickens lost--coincidence...I think NOT!!! LOL Blake had poison oak really bad all week and didnt get to practice football so we weren't expecting him to play Thursday or Friday--we were pleasantly surprised he was allowed to play Thursday. I took Blake to the ER in Easley Thursday because we couldnt get him a Dr. appt and they loaded him up with steroids so the poison whatever it is is going away. I swear that child and just think about it and it gets all over him!

Saturday Jada went to Splash Country with my brother, mom, sister in law and neice and nephew. She was gone all day and had a lot of fun.. Garrett spent the night with a friend and watched college football all day Saturday--his fav team Ohio State lost.

I sat in my bedroom watching tv, folding laundry and just enjoying the quiet (and maybe having a bit of a pitty party too--more on that later!)

This week is area wide crusade at church..I work Sun Mon Tues this week so I'm going to miss it :-(

I'm at work. it's 1:14..and I am not even believing i am online at work! usually these sites are blocked. I haven't been blogging lately because BOTH of my computers at home are not working. hopefully after my three days i can get them in the shop at the end of the week.
we had such a great weekend--i love working mon, tues, wed and being off until the next monday...i actually feel like i have time off and it's great!

today i just cleaned house, spent time with the boys (jada was at kim's) and watched gustav unfold on fox news.

better get back to my patients!!
